Today I’m sharing some of my top things to do in sunshine coast for first timers. David and I were there for about 3 weeks. The first week was really relaxing and total chill out beach time in Mooloolaba. There isn’t a whole lot to do there but soak up the sun so that’s exactly what we did.
Guys this is what all zoos should be. I mean how many people can say that in one day they had a selfie with a kangaroo, a koala bear and a lemur. There are plenty of interactive areas where you literally walk around with the animals. I always wanted to be a zoo keeper when I was younger so this really hit all the right spots. I was in heaven. It’s perfect for a one day visit and you have more than enough time to see it all.
Sunshine coast has so many beautiful hike spots and its hard to pick just a few.
We really loved Kondalilla . It takes you into a forest and around a waterfall. At the end if you are brave enough you can take a dip in the lagoon. The water was crazy cold so we just admired it from outside. This is so worth every step and I’m so glad we did this.
Another great hike is Mount Coolum. We did this one on the way to Noosa. Its kind of hard core getting to the top, its allot of stairs but man the view is worth it. When you feel like giving up just keep going!
This is why I fell in love with Australia, Noosa is so so beautiful. Definitely a top pick.
Think prefect pristine beaches and some of the most magical sunsets you will ever see. Do not miss the hikes at the Noosa National Park . I would highly suggest the Tanglewood track which leads you to Hells gate. From there do the Coastal track back to the start. Right after hells gate and before picnic cove look for a path that takes you off track. This will lead you to the infamous Fairy pools. DO NOT MISS THIS, walk back if you can’t find it. Trust me it’s worth it.
This is one of my favourite cities to date.
Check out the Brisbane south bank parkland. It’s a lovely walk and if the weather is good you can dip into the man-made beaches.
Use City Cycle . This was such an easy way to get around. Brisbane is really well set up for bikes and it’s the cheapest way to get around the city. It cost a once off R20 rand and as long as you clock in a bike every 30 minutes those trips are free. Take the bikes to the end of the river and catch a City Hopper back to the centre. You get killer views of the city and if you time it right you can catch an amazing sunset.
Head to the Brisbane city hall and catch a ride up the clock tower. This is a great way to see the surrounding city and you also actually learn allot about the history of the city.
Right after city hall pop into Noosa Chocolate Factory which is right around the corner. Guys … the freeze dried strawberry covered chocolates…
This is a one-day trip from Brisbane and definitely worth a visit. We went via Tangalooma Resort which was great value for money. It includes the faerie ride, meal vouchers and free use of their resort for the whole day. The main attraction point is snorkelling among the ship wrecks which is a really cool experience. You can bring your own snorkelling gear or hire from the resort. Out of top snorkelling experiences, I would say I have had better (we had a really strong current and the water was a bit murky. However we were just unlucky and I’ve seen pictures online which make this a must see.
So those are my top picks of things to do in Sunshine coast, I hope that this might be helpful to anyone looking to visit. Other than the beautiful landscapes and really well behaved drivers, Australia has some of the BEST chocolates. David and I literally ate at least 1 slab a day.
No I’m not kidding…Yes it was worth it.

I’ve been dreaming about warmer days and I cannot wait for the next few months to roll over and bring on our amazing South African summer. Today and for the next few Mondays I’ll be sharing some looks we shot in Australia. So be ready for some warmer style looks and hopefully that will get you excited for summer too.
I’m off to Cape Town for a quick break this Wednesday for my sister’s birthday. Woohoo, cannot wait! Dammit I love Cape Town, I’m super jealous of her and anyone else who gets to call it home. I think I need to start some serious convincing with David to relocate. Wish me luck.
